Clown In Illustrator

This was one of the tasks for my drawing class, to create a clown using Adobe Illustrator, this was about learning the proportions of the head. It was fun to do, the wall at Tafe is covered in past students clown attempts and I struggled with making something *different* I strive to be a little bit different with the things I do. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. But I do feel to some degree you have to reinvent the wheel and do something that isn't 'done' already.

So this is what I did, it is kind of a rip off on the whole "Barbie" make-up heads that came out when I was growing up, I never had one actually. But I did always want one [why I don't know!] I do like how this has worked out.

At one point, the idea was to make a nice 'glam' clown style necklace to sit around her neck, but when I couldn't get this to work I reevaluated my design idea and came up with the whole barbie thing.
